Aldenhoven - A man from Aldenhoven filed a criminal complaint with the police at the weekend after the live fish he ordered online arrived dead.

As the injured party stated, he had agreed on the following terms with the seller of a koi in an online classifieds portal: the lush 68 centimeter large noble carp should cost 450 euros, including shipping from Lower Saxony. After the fish friend from the Düren district transferred the amount, the koi set off on what was to be his last journey.

When the animal was delivered by express delivery, it no longer reached its new pond. When he opened the transport container, the Aldenhoven resident only found a dead koi in the packaging. And that is exactly what the complainant is now strongly criticizing. The box was far too small for the fish's body and the bag contained too little oxygen.

Now the judiciary is clarifying the case of fish deaths.
