Dortmund - At the beginning of June, an unknown man in Dortmund-Derne approached a six-year-old student several times in the morning on the way to school.

The six-year-old's mother contacted the police on June 14, 2017. During the time of the crime, she noticed that her daughter kept coming home with objects. Since the six-year-old doesn't receive any pocket money, the mother at some point noticed this as conspicuous.

The girl told her parents that she had been approached by an unknown person and that she had repeatedly received gifts.

After the Dortmund police became aware of the matter, a variety of measures were initiated along the way to school. The suspect has not appeared there yet. There have been no successes in the investigation so far.

At the same time, the school management of the primary school in question informed the parents in an information letter.

Unfortunately, the elementary school student was unable to provide a usable personal description in her child-friendly interviews.

Nevertheless, the Dortmund police would like to raise awareness in the Dortmund-Derne area.

Witnesses who notice suspicious people or circumstances should contact the Dortmund police's ongoing criminal investigation service on 132 7441.

In this context, the police warn against defamatory postings or messages on social networks. Under certain circumstances, these can have criminal or civil consequences for their authors. In addition, they can significantly impair criminal investigations.
