The President of the Thuringian Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Stephan Kramer, warns of increasing radicalization of vaccination opponents and corona deniers in chat forums on Telegram.
During the protest, there were “particularly many concrete fantasies of revolution” on Telegram, Kramer told the Handelsblatt newspaper. In addition to citizens who, according to Kramer, vented their anger there in sometimes “very drastic ways,” the app was also home to conspiracy ideological actors, Reich citizens, lateral thinkers and mainly right-wing extremists.
“Telegram is clearly about initial contact with the non-extremist critical mass in order to recruit and mobilize without much effort.”
