Attention iPad buyers! Apple hasn't changed the name of its new 12.9-inch flagship despite numerous improvements to the previous model. This is why inattentive prospects are at risk of failure with many salespeople.

Gravis also realizes his “digital ideas” on eBay.
There, the self-promoted “largest German provider” of Apple products filled the super-cheap “WoW” corner with a very special offer: an iPad Pro tablet, a whopping 12.9 inches in size and equipped with an even whopping 256 GB of memory . According to the description, “the largest and most powerful iPad of all time” could be purchased for 849 euros.
If you also chose PayPal as your payment method, you would get another 100 euros waived. A bargain for Apple fans.
The mostly stable market price for the highly sought-after device is currently around 1000 euros. No wonder dozens of buyers jumped at the chance. But what Gravis delivered to them was no longer available to order in the German Apple Store: the previous model.
This was only noticeable before purchase by those who kept a keen eye on the technical data and knew about the differences to the new model. Because the new iPad Pro is not only characterized by a much faster chip, but also has a camera that can take photos with 50 percent more megapixels and a display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz instead of 60 Hz.
Because Apple, despite such serious Differences has retained the name, ordering a large iPad Pro can currently be a risk.
The Gravis press office admits that “the product description provided by Apple” for the eBay WoW campaign “can be irritating”. Gravis did change its advertising following a request from the consumer advice center.
Nevertheless, the shop continues to celebrate the supposedly “most powerful iPad” in the small print. Another “digital Gravis idea” also triggers amazement.
After the WoW campaign, the price of the old model shot up from 849 euros to 1,118.90 euros: 119.80 euros more than the new model cost in the Apple manufacturer store. But any belief that Gravis is currently offering the best iPad can be broken at any time for buyers: if a protective cover is needed, for example.
Amazon, for example, offers variants for a “2015” or “2017” version. It's understandable that inexperienced Gravis buyers have little to gain from Apple's slogan at this point: “iPad. It's just fun." And it's not just with Gravis that you can lose it.
The North Rhine-Westphalia consumer advice center found many other dealers and private sellers who callously praised the old model with superlative advertising. Others mixed data sheets from both devices or kept descriptions so spartan that it was impossible to tell which variant was currently being sold. A particularly clever eBay seller wrote emotive words like “iPad Pro” and “2017” in the title of his previous model.
Only at the end of a long list of product details did the provider casually explain that the wiping computer had only been “purchased in March 2017”. Because of such trickery, Düsseldorf consumer advocates advise caution when buying a large iPad Pro.
Interested parties should explicitly confirm with the provider whether they will receive the slower 2015 model or the faster 2017 model. If you have recently ordered an iPad Pro and are unsure, you should compare the data sheets as quickly as possible.
An online purchase can generally be canceled within 14 days, and many retailers even offer a 30-day right of return. However, anyone who has just bought from private providers can be unlucky. They do not have to grant a right of withdrawal. The fear is that sellers with inaccurate product descriptions (“New iPad Pro 256 GB”) know this exactly.
