Do not pay! Absolutely no way! We warn again about invoices from “DE Deutsche Domain” and “Austria Domain Hosting”, which are ultimately not invoices at all, but merely offers masquerading as invoices.

The email appears in pure text form and contains the content:

Dear Sir/Madam,
Below are the details of the domain registration for 2016/2017.
We hope to have provided you with sufficient information.
Kind regards,
Heidi Brauer

Attached to the email is a .pdf file that initially appears to be an invoice. At least here we can give the all-clear: the attachment is NOT malware.

In this invoice, the user is asked to pay EUR 169. The transfer should be made to a Spanish account, even though the internet user never ordered a domain.

This is not an invoice!

If you take a closer look at this supposed invoice, you will see that it is an offer and not an invoice. If the user pays the invoice, he automatically accepts the offer.

SPONSORED AD

At the end of the invoice you will find the small print and it says: (1:1 copy of the text)

We would like to inform you that in the future you will only receive our invoice in digital format. You also have the option of changing your company's data both before and after receiving our invoice by informing us of your changed customer data by email, stating your customer number and invoice number. Based on the aforementioned offer, which will form the basis of the invoice if accepted by you, we will carry out the following services for you: the registration of the domain extension .eu or .info, which will be added to your current domain name. If you agree to the above, your domain registration will be valid for the above period. Please pay attention to this. This is an offer and not an invoice. Payment in response to this offer is understood as acceptance of the offer or order confirmation. In the event of non-payment, this registration will be invalid and the domain addition will be available to third parties.

Austria is also affected!

These supposed invoices not only refer to .de domains, we have also received invoices for .at domains in the past. These are structured very similarly:
