We recently reported on dubious Lufthansa competitions that follow the same pattern!

First of all: If you see a status post like this on Facebook, please ignore it. This is a fake competition. The status post itself was shared by one of your friends because they took part in this competition and “had to” share it (detailed information at the end of the report). The competition itself was NOT launched by LUFTHANSA. Data traders are hiding behind this scam. Their goal is to obtain user data.

It is about this competition or this status post on Facebook:

Such status posts are usually shared by people who are on your friends list. If you follow the status post, you will end up on a fake “Ryanair” website.

On this website the user now has to answer three questions.

Once he has done this, there are only two steps left to complete to get the alleged Ryanair tickets. Which of course will NEVER BE THE CASE. On the one hand, he now has to “SHARE” the POST (Share in Facebook). This step also results in the status contributions listed above at the moment. And on the other hand, in the second step he has to click on a “Like” button.

The goal is for users to click on the “Like” button here.

Behind this there is no Facebook page, but a website. This allows the user to take part in dubious competitions. And that's exactly what this nasty scam is all about.

DATA TRADERS!

What most people don't realize here is that this is about YOUR DATA.
In other words, your own data is fed into a database and the respective participant can then access a number of ADVERTISING EMAILS, ADVERTISING CALLS and much more. "be happy". The user can find this information, also in modified form, in SMALL PRINT under the competition form:

“Yes, I agree that a selection of the companies listed in the sponsor list will inform me by post, telephone, email or SMS about offers from their respective business area. You can influence the selection of advertising companies yourself. I can revoke my consent at any time. Further information here.”

But not only that!

In most cases, such user data is also resold. Such a data set can then earn the seller a few euros.

… data collector and lead generator

We have often found EXACTLY THIS method, just with other vouchers as bait. In addition to Proleagion, other lead generators also collect data using the same method - much to the disfavor of the companies used as decoys. So far we have mostly noticed Proleagion, adpublisher, red lemon media GmbH, Lead Spot Media, 7sections GmbH and Planet49.

So these are data collectors!

The user is being promised and led to believe something that is not true at all.
The status post gives the user the impression that they could win plane tickets, but that is not the case. KEEP AWAY FROM COMPETITIONS like this! Nobody has anything to give away.
