Bad Hersfeld – The police in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district have never experienced this. Two 18-year-old friends from the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district had told each other alleged girls' stories with fictitious friends and bragged about them to each other.
They each used another cell phone for their alleged friends. So we wrote many a love story over the course of a few days. Both believed that the other had a girlfriend and so each wanted to be in no way inferior. The story is crazy enough at this point and not something for the police. At least until then.
On yesterday morning (June 6th), at 5:57 a.m., one of the two reported to the police. His friend told him via WhatsApp that his alleged girlfriend was about to be raped in a restaurant in Rotenburg.
The police in Rotenburg began a large search operation in the city center and near the Fulda between Rotenburg and the Lispenhausen district. Of course, the police also had the cell phone number of the other 18-year-old in the meantime. He said on the phone that he was in a restaurant in Rotenburg with his (alleged) girlfriend until around 5 a.m. and then drove home.
In the meantime, the officers from the police station and criminal investigation department in Bad Hersfeld were also involved in the search operation. The research revealed that the two 18-year-olds live in Bad Hersfeld or in a large community near Bad Hersfeld.
So the young man who had invented the rape was finally found in Bad Hersfeld. He also immediately admitted that he had made a big mess. When asked why he didn't stop the story when the police called him, he sheepishly admitted that he was unaware of the situation. He was very sorry about the whole thing, he apologized to the police officers and would also like to cover the costs of the police operation, around 2,000 euros.
