Does that sound unusual? Arouses suspicion? Well, that's the only thing that's appropriate in this case. This is just data collection, and on top of that you get a subscription that you probably never wanted. But one after anonther …

It starts with a Facebook posting

The advertising here uses a photo of various washing machines and a price tag with an Amazon logo and the amount of €2 on it. The text is intended to explain this absolute bargain price:

🥳 Due to the suspension of deliveries to some countries – Aꙧazon&Ꙅamsung have decided to sell surplus washing machines at the super price of €2!🔥

Let’s leave the odd spelling of “Amazon” and “Samsung” as it is and click on “Apply now”.

We recognize a familiar process

But “familiar” here does not equate to “positive”. However, the process of this competition, this raffle, is always the same if it ends up being a fake.

We reach a page that has the Amazon logo, but has nothing else to do with the online portal. The URL “ntxtph.info” also reveals this. The text and price also do not match the announcement from before. First there was talk of “discontinued deliveries to some countries” and “2 euros”. Here we read about “export restrictions” and “1.95 euros”.

You are congratulated and only have to answer a few questions, but do so quickly as the number of prizes is limited.
Translated, this means: “Click quickly, enter data quickly, don’t read the lowercase letters.”

Perfect, we won.
So all you have to do is fill out the form and pay for shipping. On the next page (attention, again a new URL, again not one that is connected to Amazon or Samsung - “toptraffex.com”) we find information about which washing machine it should be and price information: “€1.95 and free delivery”.

Like now, it was said earlier that we would have to pay the shipping costs. Now delivery is free again. Everything is so inconsistent that it gives you a headache.

And here we already have the information about what it's about. But to do that you would have to read this long text. If you don't do this, you then enter your name, address (for delivery of the washing machine, of course) and your credit card details (for payment of the washing machine or shipping costs - whatever).

Bye-bye washing machine, hello subscription!

And you get your Samsung washing machine... um, its 5 day trial subscription. If you do not cancel after this test period, the amount will be debited from your credit card. By the way, this can also vary according to your choice. - Very nice. So that can get really expensive.

Conclusion

There is no Samsung washing machine that can be sold off by Amazon for 2 euros. Instead, you get a subscription where the price can vary.

In addition, you have left your personal information such as name, address, telephone number, email address and credit card details to complete strangers who probably have no good intentions with it. Apart from the announced subscription, the debit of 1.95 or 2 euros, you can probably expect tons of spam in the future and hope that nothing is done with your credit card details.

In short: If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. - Hands off!
