WhatsApp is working on a feature that will make it easier for users to organize storage.

WABetaInfo announces a possibility with which you can easily view and delete your WhatsApp media files in the future and therefore organize them more easily .

Countless media files through WhatsApp

Especially due to the increased use of messengers, countless images, videos, GIFs and even audio files accumulate over time.
So that you no longer have to go through chat after chat to remove various media, WhatsApp wants to offer its users an easy way to do this.

Management of storage space

WABetaInfo announced new features for memory usage a few months ago. This should enable users to easily view their WhatsApp media files and thereby free up storage space.

A screenshot shows what this function could look like in the future.

  • In the “Used” section you can see a bar in which you can see how much storage space WhatsApp is currently using, including all media files.
  • In the second section you get an overview of your forwarded files and large files.
  • All chats are listed at the bottom. Here you can access and search the chats directly.

Perfect, finally clearing out!

It is currently unclear when this new function will be available to all WhatsApp users. This option is not yet included in the public beta versions.

WABetaInfo states that this new feature is currently still in development and tests for beta users may also be carried out. The tool continues to be developed and optimized. You'll probably have to be a little patient until it's ready for a launch.
