A belated Valentine's Day gift? Be careful if you receive a link to a supposed Apple competition via WhatsApp!

Because Apple is currently not giving away Valentine's Day gifts. Even if a WhatsApp message boldly claims the opposite!

Even though Valentine's Day is over, fake competitions are still being sent out in the name of Apple claiming to have a Valentine's Day gift in store. But anyone who follows the link will be bitterly disappointed.

First you will be redirected to a website that lists various cash prizes. To underline the nature of the competition, three gifts should be opened to try your luck.

Of course, none of this has anything to do with luck, because everyone wins automatically! Why? Because the scammers want something from YOU and if you don't win, you couldn't get ripped off. That's why immediately after you guess on a gift you'll be informed that you've won.

Now it is specified that anyone who wants to receive their gift must share the competition with their WhatsApp contacts - a pyramid system. Finally, the participant should register and submit their personal data. But not without first agreeing to receive push notifications.

As a next step, the participant is redirected to a “loyalty points program”. Here you will find out about another competition in which you should take part. In this context, too, it is pretended that you have won an Apple product.

In order to receive the supposed gift, the personal data should now also be entered here.

The meaning behind the whole thing: The supposed competition comes from data collectors. To participate, you must agree to receive advertising from a list of sponsors. It is questionable whether there is an actual profit at the end.

The competition comes from a company called “red lemon media GmbH” – a name that we have often come across in connection with such lure competitions.

Stay away from such competitions! Apart from a flood of advertising, you can expect little else here!
