Last weekend, an unknown person hunted letters from mailboxes in residential buildings throughout the city. The police are now relying on information from the public.
In recent days, the Würzburg City Police Department has received an increasing number of reports of thefts from mailboxes. The perpetrator deliberately opened the mailboxes and stole valuables.
In one case, the suspect was apparently able to find a cellar key in a mailbox, which he took and used it to steal two high-quality mountain bikes from the basement compartment of the property.
The Würzburg City Police Department advises citizens not to store valuables or keys in the boxes. Anyone who has observed something suspicious or can provide information about the perpetrator is asked to contact the Würzburg police on 0931/457-2230
