To some Facebook users, it sounds like a made-up story. But it is not.
A reporter from the Nordsee-Zeitung was shot in the thigh during a research appointment in the Bremerhaven police building today.

Editor of the Nordsee-Zeitung injured by a gunshot
On February 23, 2016, a press conference with an editor from the Nordsee-Zeitung Bremerhaven took place in the Bremerhaven police press office in Stadthaus 6, in which the police's new service pistol was presented.
As part of the statements, a shot was accidentally fired from a police officer's service pistol at around 10:22 a.m. The projectile hit the editor in the leg and injured his thigh.
The emergency services were quickly contacted, the injured person was treated and taken to hospital. There is no danger to life.
The police investigation was started by the responsible specialist commissionerate and is currently ongoing.
