Recently, a text from the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) came into legal focus, which discussed Beate H.'s alleged experiences with Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann. This original text ( archived version HERE ), to which we refer, has been changed for legal reasons.

In the original version of the report, Beate H. reported on certain events that she claims to have experienced in connection with Lindemann. These representations have now been removed from the text and it is important to note that these are unsubstantiated allegations. It now largely looks like the text consists of nothing but Xs (see current version HERE ):

A recent court order imposes limits on the ORF. This ruling stipulated that by publishing such reports, the broadcaster must not give the impression that Lindemann might have injured a person against their will during Rammstein's “Stadium Tour”.

ORF: Lost because we protect sources

But the ORF doesn't want to give up. Austrian broadcasting recently confirmed that it deliberately did not reveal the location and time of certain events (see HERE ). This step was intended to prevent conclusions being drawn about the identity of a woman, Beate H.. Although the woman has not yet filed a criminal complaint against the singer Till Lindemann, her desire for anonymity is clear. In this respect, the ORF says it has enough evidence, but preferred to lose rather than identify the person affected.

In an official statement from the broadcaster, the journalists emphasized their responsibility. “Our duty is to protect our sources,” it was explained. This protection is intended to ensure that Beate H. and other sources are protected from possible threats and hostility. The safety and well-being of the sources is of the utmost importance to the ORF.

Since May 2023, ORF and other media have been reporting on an alleged system that Lindemann is said to have introduced women to for years. The exact circumstances and details of this system are the subject of ongoing research and investigation.

The ORF journalists made it clear in the article “Lindemann: Interim injunction against ORF” that they will continue their work. “We will speak to those affected and continue to research,” they promised. So the public can rest assured that the channel will continue to champion the truth while ensuring the well-being of its sources.

The ORF shows the X!

The court's decision highlights the importance of protecting the privacy rights of individuals. What actually initially looks like a typo or incorrect content is actually real. The article was not deleted, but the relevant passages were made unrecognizable by capitalizing and minusculing the letter X.

The ORF describes these changes in detail in the following form:

Note: For legal reasons, passages in this text have been deleted. In the original version of the report, Beate H. described her alleged experiences with Rammstein singer Till Lindemann. According to a court order, the ORF is now prohibited from arousing suspicion through the reproduction of certain representations that Lindemann is said to have beaten H. against her will during the Rammstein “Stadium Tour”.

In recent months, the frontman of the band Rammstein, Till Lindemann, has been the focus of legal investigations. The singer has been made serious allegations, including sexual offenses and violations of the Narcotics Act. But the Berlin public prosecutor's office recently announced that it would end its investigation against the artist. And that was the ORF's downfall in this reporting, hence the changed form.

The reason for this step is the lack of evidence. After carefully evaluating all available evidence, the public prosecutor's office was unable to find any indication that Lindemann was involved in the actions he was accused of. Particular attention was paid to allegations that Lindemann forced women to engage in sexual acts against their will or administered substances to them that influenced or eliminated their will. It was also rumored that the singer had exploited a power imbalance towards underage sexual partners in order to persuade them to engage in sexual acts. But according to the public prosecutor's office, there is no solid evidence for any of these allegations.
