However, in order to put a stop to illegal trade, especially in puppies and kittens, Ebay Classifieds is now tightening its requirements .
Puppy placement only with official proof
Anyone who wants to sell dogs or cats under 12 months of age on the classifieds portal will need official permission.
The provider must now prove that there is a permit (“Paragraph 11 permit”) for breeding and keeping as well as for trading animals in accordance with Section 11 of the Animal Welfare Act. This approval is a prerequisite for creating an advertisement and must be proven in advance on Ebay Classifieds.
No requests or gifts
From now on it is also forbidden to post requests for pets on the platform. The “to give away” category is also prohibited. This was introduced to protect against illegal offers.

No more reptiles on eBay classifieds
The trade in protected wild animals, exotic mammals, birds and amphibians has long been banned on the advertising platform.
Now this also applies to reptiles such as bats, lizards, turtles, ... These are no longer allowed to be sold on the platform for animal welfare reasons.
Animal welfare comes first
These new rules are intended to ensure greater safety and animal welfare. If user reports are submitted in the pet category, they should be processed particularly quickly and comprehensively.
Animal shelters receive free premium access. This allows these non-profit organizations to stand out from other providers. It also has the advantage that their ads receive improved visibility.
