On Tuesday evening, the parents and their son filed a report with the Kitzingen police station. According to the child's description, an unknown person first approached him from a white VW bus on the way to school. The incident is said to have occurred on Tuesday around 2:05 p.m. on “Im Tännig” street. The unknown person finally got out and lifted the elementary school student into the vehicle. The boy got out of the car while he was still in the street. He did not suffer any injuries.

The boy described the man as being around 170 cm tall, with a black three-day beard, wearing jeans, a black jacket and a black wool hat. He spoke with a Bavarian dialect and had a tattoo on the back of his hand. The vehicle is said to have been a white VW bus. A license plate number is not known.

The boy did the right thing and informed his parents. After the report was filed in the evening, the police immediately initiated initial investigations and are now showing more presence in Mainstockheim, especially during school hours.

According to the current situation, there have been no other suspicious approaches from children in the area in the recent past, prior to yesterday's incident. There is currently no information as to the man's motivation as to why he might have spoken to the boy.

As part of the investigation, the Kitzingen police are now particularly looking for people who were at the location at the time mentioned and who may have made findings regarding the description.

In this context, the police ask:

  • Raise awareness among your children about traveling with strangers.
  • If you see anything suspicious, inform your local police station directly. They are committed to investigating the background and clarifying such communications.
  • Do not participate in speculation on social media or WhatsApp groups.

Witnesses who observed the incident or can provide information about the white van or the unknown man are asked to contact the Kitzingen police station on 09321/141-130.
