The claim
Apparently Hugo Boss announced that it would donate 100,000 uniforms to Ukraine. This is often accompanied by an alleged company advertising poster from 1934 advertising Nazi uniforms.
Our conclusion
There is no announcement from Hugo Boss about a uniform donation, either directly from the company or indirectly in reports from news agencies and media. The alleged Boss advertising posters from 1934 are fakes, the drawings come from a 1980 book for which the drawings were made.
The fashion company Hugo Boss actually has a Nazi past, but false allegations about it were circulating years ago because they were one of many companies that sewed the uniforms, but did not design them. However, the design false claim is now being spun further: the company apparently wants to donate 100,000 uniforms to Ukraine, which leads some to the conclusion that this is appropriate because, in their opinion, Ukrainians are also Nazis.
The claim circulating
been circulating particularly on Twitter , that Hugo Boss wants to donate uniforms to Ukraine.
The claim is circulating in German:
In English:
In French:
Every now and then, further details are added, for example that the design of the Azov fighters should be based on the uniforms of the SS at Zelensky's express request. The tweets are often accompanied by an alleged advertising poster from Hugo Boss, which is supposed to show the designed uniforms as the “1934 Collection”.

Looking for notice
As usual with false claims: A source is never given, because people in particular who like to claim to think critically and for themselves seem to stop thinking and believe everything that fits into their worldview without checking, even without any proof.
Since Hugo Boss is said to have announced it publicly, there should be something about it somewhere, so let's go through all possible channels:
- The homepage : none
- The Facebook account : none
- The Twitter account : none
- The Instagram accounts : none
- The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine : none
Even in press releases from various news agencies there is not a word about it. Even media that automatically publish the agencies' news tickers don't report on it, even though it would be a big headline.
Knack 's Belgian colleagues and the German colleagues at dpa also asked Hugo Boss directly and received a clear answer:
“Hugo Boss firmly rejects this information, which constitutes fake news. We have already taken action to immediately investigate this matter and prevent further misinformation.”
In short: There is no announcement from Hugo Boss about a uniform donation, either directly from the company or indirectly in reports from news agencies and media.
The fake advertising posters
Even at first glance at the alleged Hugo Boss advertising poster, something is noticeable:
Why should advertisements for German uniforms, which are explicitly aimed at Germans, be written in English? There is also mention of a “1934 Collection”, but some of the uniforms are more recent.
This is probably because the uniforms were never seen on an advertising poster. 1980 book “ German Uniforms of the Third Reich 1933-1945 Fake History Hunter ” have already pointed out. The book's introduction states that the drawings were made specifically for this book - so they couldn't have been used for advertisements in 1934.
The alleged Hugo Boss advertising posters for the uniforms are therefore pure fakes.
But what did Hugo Boss have to do with the Nazis?
Although today the name is mainly associated with designer clothing, in 1924 the company was primarily active as a clothing company, which at the time got a new major customer : a supply of brown shirts for the members of the Nazi Party.
In 1938 the company received further orders for the production of army uniforms, which was an enormous gain for the company, which at the time only had 250 employees. However, the uniforms were only manufactured , not designed !
The design of the Nazi uniforms came from several people and is based on the patterns of earlier Prussian uniforms. For example, the infamous black uniform of the SS was by the painter Karl Diebisch .
Hugo Boss was not the only tailoring shop that received orders from the Nazis to produce uniforms (this would not have been possible for the medium-sized company), but it was the best known today. Since the company was repeatedly confronted with the Nazi past, they also commissioned an investigation, which, however, was not carried out by themselves.
A detailed review of these years by Roman Köster can be found directly on the Hugo Boss website as a PDF file.
Conclusion
Hugo Boss undoubtedly benefited from the Nazis. forced laborers were employed in the factory under inhumane conditions, for which Boss had to pay a fine of 25,000 Reichsmarks after the war today's money .
Like other tailors, the company made uniforms for the Nazis, but the design was dictated to them.
They also do not design uniforms for Ukraine or send uniforms there, this claim is completely out of thin air.
Also interesting: Apparently Robert F. Kennedy Jr. won a lawsuit in the US Supreme Court against all pharmaceutical lobbyists, according to which the corona vaccines were not real vaccines.
But such a process never took place! – Claim about Supreme Court ruling and vaccines is still false!
