This is how the scam works

You probably came across the fraudulent loan offer through an internet search. Or maybe you've seen a promotional post on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or a website. This is because the criminals advertise the loan offer very intensively.

If you fill out the application form on kreditexpert.com, you will quickly receive a confirmation. You have submitted personal information, bank details and probably also sent a copy of your ID. Your contact person will even send you a certificate about the loan. The money is within reach. But your contact person suddenly explains to you that the loan can only be transferred once you pay the insurance costs. This can be three to four-digit amounts.

If you transfer, additional amounts of money will be requested. Contract fees, validation costs, certification or examination fees. The criminals keep inventing more costs and stealing a lot of money from you. But you won't get any credit.

If you refuse to continue transferring money, the fraudulent lender will threaten you with cancellation fees. He claims that if you don't pay, you'll be breaking the contract and going to court. Apparently Interpol is also involved. Don't let yourself be put under pressure. The threats are made up to force you to make further payments.

I have transferred, what can I do?

  • Contact your bank immediately. Perhaps the transfer can be stopped or reversed. However, the probability of success is rather low.
  • Stop replying and block the criminals if possible.
  • File a police report. If applicable, mention that you submitted a copy of your ID. Criminals can use your ID to cause great damage and commit crimes in your name.
