By activating the nine- euro ticket, users have access to a number of train connections throughout Germany. But while passengers are now benefiting from the rail network, telephone fraudsters were blatantly abusing the slightly different “mobile connection” last month.

In May, those affected reported alleged competitions, dubious insurance contracts and calls “on a continuous loop with different phone number endings” (015217828228). The latter category also includes 030439729067, which was already listed in April - back then with the final number 6. In other cases, the municipal utilities are suddenly on the phone.

Clever Dialer shares which numbers the users of the app for spam protection and caller ID reported particularly frequently in the telephone spam check for the month of May.

  • 040254671238 (Other):
“Be careful!! They call without asking and claim that the city has commissioned them to ask whether the energy costs are too high and want to conclude contracts!!”
  • 03016637169 (cost trap):
“Calls several times a day and hangs up. When I call back, the number is not in use. Even if the number is blocked, I get a notification several times a day that the number has called.”
  • 06920436149 (Other):
“Incredibly annoying. 20 machine calls every day. Surely they bought my number. I took part in a Frosch competition. It started the next day.”
  • 01632489481 (competition):
“Just annoying, supposedly took part in a competition and won.”
  • 069870012292 (cost trap):
“Additional pension conclusion? They supposedly wanted to call someone completely different, but that didn't stop the caller from sending out his text. Had to hang up, otherwise he would keep pushing.”
  • 030439729067 (cost trap):
“Energy advice, claims that you have been activated for a call. Lie! Attention: If you cut them off, they will call again shortly afterwards using a different phone number!!”
  • 015217828228 (competition):
“Participation in the competition even though I didn’t take part anywhere! Rip off."
  • 030439729068 (Other):
“Apparently they are from the municipal utilities and would like to have the meter number in order to offer a cheaper tariff. I then called my public utility company and they said it was a cost trap. If the municipal utilities offer a different tariff, it will come by post!!!”
  • 061194583283 (Other):
“Couldn't answer the call straight away and called back. The participant only reports with their private name and only gives the company name when asked. A company that wants to offer you a change of energy provider and, when you express your disinterest, cheekily asks if you haven’t heard about the high price increases.”
  • 041819474991 (Other):
“They want to talk you into insurance.”
