The Freiburg police have already published an official statement on Facebook. This reads: “A ghost image of an alleged case at the Tulla School is currently circulating in various WhatsApp groups. We are not aware of this case.” The Tulla primary school is located in the north of the city of Freiburg.

According to the announcement, the phantom image is an old search call that was already used report in the “Badische Zeitung” from December 16, 2016 The picture is therefore not current and refers to a sexual offense near Gottenheim in June 2016, in which a ten-year-old girl was attacked. The community of Gottenheim is located a few kilometers from Freiburg.

In addition, two other suspected cases fall under the jurisdiction of the Freiburg Police Headquarters: In Kandern, on February 28, 2023, an eight-year-old girl was approached by a man from a dark car as she was on the way home from school. The girl also did not respond to the man's attempt to contact her.
A day later, a man in Herbolzheim have “grabbed and briefly lifted” a twelve-year-old girl as she was also on the way home from school. The girl fought back violently and the man let go of her, whereupon she ran away. The police ask for information from witnesses in all cases.
