Sometimes it's better not to know what some things look like under a microscope, but it's still interesting. A very successful Ukrainian TikTok channel satisfies this curiosity by having the channel's operator, Roman Kamburov, show various things under the microscope in his videos.
The most popular video shows the sausage of a hot dog under the microscope - but only apparently, because Roman himself admits that the video is fake!

Rub the sausage!
No, that wasn't a request, but a description of what Roman Kamburov did in a previous video showing what the surface of a sausage looks like when rubbed against various surfaces:

The similarity is striking: tiny hairs can also be seen in this video with the “contaminated” sausage. But that's not real proof of a fake, more of an indication.
The creator admits the fake
In fairness, Roman Kamburov himself admits to USA Today that the video is not real:
- He applied the pieces of string, dust and other contaminants to the slice of sausage himself before placing it under the microscope
- The worms and parasites were not on the sausage slice, but in a Petri dish
Unfortunately, most of the videos are fake, as Kamburov admits. The reason he gives is to “ protest how easy it is to deceive people ” and “ to show that scientific and useful information is not as interesting as fake (videos) ”.
Unfortunately, the success proves Kamurov right: While the video in which he clearly contaminates the sausage only has 3.2 million views, the fake video climbed to 244 million views.
